The team came away from Curraheen Park with a sensational five-timer including the feature of the night, and the year at the venue, the classic, Bar One Irish Laurels!

High Trend gave the team our fifth winner of this historic and prestigious event, as he tracked the early leader round the opening turns. Role Model, moving well from her flying start had High Trend soon on her tail as they headed along the far side. Holding his rails pitch perfectly, he squeezed up the gap at the inside of the third turn.

Hitting the front High Trend then found himself under pressure from the strong running Easy Razzle, coming out the fourth turn, he held his pitch again perfectly and shut the door on the challenger. Despite a renewed effort on the run in High Trend stayed n to claim a famous victory by half a length to the good over Easy Razzle, in 28.31. A night to remember for the RTC Syndicate!

The team had been on fire prior to the feature race too. Ballinakill Alf had run out a good winner of the Youghal Track Supporters Open 330 in a decent 17.75 before Gaytime Hugo was a professional winner when landing the Droopys Stud Open 575 in 30.70 by six lengths.

It was fast turning into a night remember, as we enjoyed a brilliant 1-2 in the final of the Jerry and Michael Hennerty Memorial ON1 final. Sacundai displayed fine early speed to slip around in front and he set strong early fractions up front. Newinn Curly was catching the eye on the back straight and the son of Droopys Sydney and Newinn Cuckoo showed massive gears. The April youngster flew up the home straight to score, in 28.25, two lengths clear of the early leader.

We enjoyed another stake winner on the night as Romeo Kingpin prevailed in the final of the Michael (Bart) Leahy Memorial A2 525 Stake Final. He tracked the early leaders before powering along the far side and moving to the front at the third turn. He pulled away before coming under a renewed assault on the run in, but he claimed victory by a neck in 28.42.

The night ended in style as Swords Rex ran out an eight length winner of the Time Greyhound Nutrition Open 525. Having faced disappointment over his recent withdrawal in the earlier rounds of the Laurels, he put it all behind him with a top drawer performance here. He was quickly into stride before powering away to victory in 28.15.
