Bombay Special (Dromana Bucko–Tory Aria) produced a superb performance to land the €7,000 to the winner SSO Personnel Cork Oaks at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

Owned by Jack Ryan, she broke smartly and quickly took control around the opening bends. Showing electric early pace, she soon stretched five lengths clear of Clan Sapphire, with Laurels champion Magical On Fire moving into third down the back straight.

It developed into a thrilling contest, with the strong-running Magical On Fire closing rapidly approaching the final bends. Just over a length separated the pair turning for home, but Bombay Special showed great determination to hold on and score by half a length in 28.42. Ballymac Siun finished three lengths further back in third.

A brilliant night for the team and a lady who is sure to feature in many more big races this year!
