Following the devastating injury suffered by Newinn Taylor late yesterday evening he was made comfortable by the track vet before returning home to the kennels. Rachel spent the entire night in the kennel with Taylor ensuring he was comfortable and at ease.
He was taken to Shane Guerin early this morning and x-rayed where a bad break to the hock was confirmed. He will remain with Shane for the swelling to die down before being operated on, this is expected to be the early part of the week.
Following surgery he will be allowed as much time as is needed before enjoying his retirement; decisions around any future stud career will be made in due course.
The team at Riverside Kennels, Simon Taylor (Owner) and Shari-Anne O’Donnell (Breeder) would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their messages of support, it’s wonderful to see how appreciated Taylor was on the track and for the sport.
