Russian Glory and Part Blake will deservedly take their places in next week’s Matchbook Betting Exchange Irish St. Leger Final at Limerick after both safely qualifying from this weekend’s Semi Finals.

Part Blake is in fine form having been unbeaten to the Semi Final stages with some professional front running performances however, he had to dig deep to qualify here. Missing the break for the first time in the competition he was then involved in bunching at the opening turn allowing the early leaders to get away along the far side. Despite riding the bump and occupying the rear of the field entering the back straight, the determined Part Blake did some serious running to seal the final qualification spot, just a head clear of brilliant Ballymac Wild.

The second Semi Final saw Russian Glory continue his superb run of form, making it four wins on the spin. Trapping smartly and quickly into stride he led into the first corner, running a fantastic second bend to take full command he pulled further clear down the back, before coming home two and a half lengths to the good from the classy field, Deerjet Sydney putting in a big run to keep the pressure on throughout. The ever young Sweep The Yard ran a brilliant race to stay in contention before eventually finishing a very credible fourth.
