Clona Skye was crowned the Queen Of Cork as she landed the SIS Cork Oaks on Saturday evening.

Owned by Kevin O’Brien, the youngest to line up in the Final overcame a tricky trap draw to land the spoils with a fine display of pace and determination. It was Azzabi who broke smartly on the inside but Skye showed good early gears to go with her to the opening corner. Heading down the far side it was a great battle from the leading pair, who put daylight between the field behind, hitting the third turn Skye drove the bend superbly to grab a decisive advantage and the upper hand. Digging deep on the run in, Skye held on to record a half length victory in a close finish where only 3/4 length separated the first four home!

Skye has been in fantastic form in recent weeks, the victory on Saturday being her 4th win in her last 6 starts since her winter break!
