We delighted to be able to relay that Graham has been announced Personality Of The Year, in the 2020 Irish Greyhound Annual Review, making it the third time following his previous awards in 2012 and 2016.

In spite of the shorter season the team still landed some of the top prizes in the sport with biggest being the Boylesports Irish Derby won by the brilliant Newinn Taylor. Add to that the victories of Wolfe in the Easter Cup, Newinn Taylor’s Produce Stakes victory and Riverside Leo’s success in the Tipperary Cup at Thurles, it has been another wonderful year. Graham joins other top trainers Ger McKenna, Paul Hennessy and Dolores Ruth in winning this award three times.

There was also a special mention for Rachel following her calm and classy interview immediately following Newinn Taylor’s Irish Derby success. “Perhaps the abiding memory (of the Irish Derby) will be Rachel Holland, while parading the new Derby champ trained by her dad Graham, virtually in tears over what happened to Pestana. This shows not only the class act that Rachel undoubtedly is but also the lovely side of our sport and it was almost amusing later on to see Pestana’s owner Des Grace telling Graham Holland, who was clearly upset with what had happened to the Owen McKenna trained wonder dog as well, to cheer up and savour his great Derby victory.”
