Wolfe claimed his first major title on Saturday night when producing a brilliant victory in the Ladbrokes Easter Cup at Shelbourne Park.

The Marian Moloney owned Wolfe showed a great racing brain as he tracked the early leader, and kennel mate, Murts Boher round the opening turns and along the far side. Murts passed halfway with a length and a half to spare but Wolfe was beginning to mount a serious challenge approaching into the third turn. Hitting the third turn Wolfe made his move, shooting up the inside of Murts Boher who despite his best efforts was unable to hold him. Wolfe had the crucial inside advantage ad took charge of the race before turning for home. Ballymac Anton tracked him in second but there was no stopping Wolfe.

Showing he has matured and strengthened since his younger days, Wolfe held off the challenge of Ballymac Anton to cross the line with a length and a half to spare in 29.89. Ballymac Inspeed stayed on strongly for third, a further length adrift.
