It was a good weekend for the kennels both on and off the track.

On the track we had wins in the Easter Cup for Cabra Buck and Innameovhoff at Shelbourne. Hawaii Kinsale encountered all sorts of traffic problems and was unfortunately eliminated. Over at Mullingar, Sidarian Lisa recorded the second fastest heat time of the night when recording victory in the opening rounds whilst Garryvoe Jet battled hard to qualify in 3rd place to take his place in the next round. At Limerick, Hooverville followed up the success of his litter mate, Forgotten Town, at Clonmel on Thursday evening, when winning comfortably.

On Friday, Vans Viking trialed ahead of the Con Kirby Memorial Stake at Limerick. He was slow out of the traps but handled the track well to record 28.79. He’ll now go into the hat alongside kennel mates Runaway Rover and Sidarian Blitz for this week’s draw.

A quick look ahead to this week sees us have 4 runners at Shelbourne on Monday evening. Beara West, Barnhill Turbo, Riverside Swift and Rockburst Beryl all represent the kennels. Further entries will be announced upon race confirmation. We’ll also be looking forward to the upcoming Con Kirby Memorial Stake draw.

Away from the track we attended the Annual IGB Greyhound Awards on Sunday. We had already been informed that Sidarian Blaze would be collecting the Newcomer of the Year award but it was a fantastic surprise when Knockglass Billy was announced as Sprinter of the Year! A great afternoon and we’d like to congratulate all owners and trainers of all other winners on the day.
