Plenty of top quality action to catch up on as we saw the opening round of the Michael Fortune Memorial Derby Plate, the Third Round of the Boylesports Derby and the O’Neills Dog Food Munster Oaks.
Thursday evening saw us land a brilliant 4 timer at Shelbourne. Clonbrien Flash landed victory in the Dublin Unraced 525 Semi-Final which also saw Ballydoyle Bee progress to next week’s Final. The wonderfully re-named, Michael Fortune Memorial Derby Plate, also kicked off with some top class action. Blue East and Macaroon Cruz bounced back from their Derby exits as they landed their respective heats with Clonbrien Prince and Clona Blaze also qualifying. The evening finished off nicely with Rathcoole Fox landing the lucky last.
Onto Saturday and down at Waterford and Fahrenheit Lor overcome early bend trouble to land victory in the final heat of the O’Neills Dog Food Munster Oaks. Chasing down the early leader after her trouble, she went on to win by two lengths in 28.64.
Up at Shelbourne, the team recorded a hat-trick of Boylesports Irish Derby Heat successes. Lenson Bocko produced a polished performance to land the opening contest. Showing great early pace he ran out a five and half length winner in a superb 29.27. This was followed up in the next heat where Slippy Cian also led early, winning by a length in 29.41. The hat-trick was bought up in fine style as Murts Boher led home Lenson Blinder for a nice 1-2 for the team. The pair were seperated by a length and half in 29.61. Ballydoyle Valor qualified as he finished in third spot in the final heat.
With 4 qualifiers for next week’s Quarter Finals we’ve plenty of top class action still in front of us. The trap draws of our runners can be seen below.
