We sent out a few nice winners over the weekend to continue our decent start to the year, with successes at both Shelbourne and Clonmel.

On Saturday at Shelbourne, In The Genes and Good Karma were worthy winners of their contests. In The Genes recorded her second career success on the bounce as she showed good early speed to take control of the contest at the opening turn. Coming back to the field slightly on the run in she held on to claim the victory in 29.12. Good Karma was a short head winner of the The www.greyhoundsaspets.ie Open 750. His first experience over the extended trip was a fine run, showing good 4 bend speed throughout he was put under pressure on the run in but battled hard to hold on to the lead he had established. It was very close but he got the nod in a photo decision in a good run of 41.85

Sunday saw the opening round of the prestigious Rural Hawaii @ Stud Open Unraced Stake at Clonmel. We had five entries for the heats and sent out one winner with another three runners safely through to the next round.

Riverside Leo was our winner as he ran out a nice winner of Haet 2, showing good early pace he led round the opening turns before extending the lead along the far side, turning for home the chasing pack made small in roads but he was never under any real pressure, crossing the line in a very good 28.55 by a length. Rising Gene, Rockburst Dutch and Spotted Wonder all qualified for next week’s second round heats.
