The team have had a busy weekend with runners at Limerick, Shelbourne and Clonmel this weekend, which included a nice winner with Nitro Notorious recording his first win since August.
Notorious ran out a good four length winner in the last race at Limerick, showing good early pace to lead on the run up he opened up a nice lead along the back straight before staying on well up the run in. Great to see him get a win under his belt after the nasty tumble he took back in August. Fantasy Joey was in a tough Easter Cup Trial Stakes where he finished 4th behind the Derby Winner, Good News. Beaming Paradise lined up in a Con & Annie Kirby Trial Stake where he went down by a neck to finish 2nd, despite a battling effort he couldn’t quite get his head in front.
Also at Limerick we had a couple of triallers. Clonbrien Hero enjoyed a good workout where he posted an 18.36 for the 350 sprint. Drive On Tipp also had a spin and posted 18.70 winning his trial by a length and half from recent kennel addition Blue East.
Clonmel staged the Semi Finals of the Rural Hawaii at Stud Unraced Stakes where we had Clares Perisi and Rural Brae lining up in the second Semi Final in what can be described as an incident packed race! Rural Brae broke well and led to the bend, moving well he was in control of the race along the far side, at the same time Clares Perisi was unfortunately hampered and fell along the far side. Rounding the final turns and up the home straight, Rural Brae was still in front but it was at this point that Clares Perisi re-emerged from the centre field and jumped on to the track! Luckily, no dogs collided and the race standings were unaffected.
On the under card, Riverside Bubble ran a good race to take the honours in the Friends Of Clonmel A3 / A4 Stake Semi-Final. Turning in a handy position out the 2nd bend she took control of the race entering the 3rd bend where she railed to perfection. Powering home she ran out a solid four length victor. Fantasy Grace lined up in a strong A2 contest, running well she finished a credible second.
