The team landed a superb double at Curraheen Park as Newinn Lester and Clona Blaze recorded excellent victories in the 2019 Irish Greyhound Laurels Semi Finals.

The opening Semi Final saw a trap to line performance from Newinn Lester. Back to his very best he broke the magical 28-second barrier again. Showing scintillating early pace, he was always in control of the contest. Despite giving chase behind,  Doona Buck could never get on terms. Rounding the final two bends, he had a comfortable lead, staying on well he stopped the clock in 27.94 – half a length faster than he recorded earlier this year for delighted owner Shari-Anne-O’Donnell.

We didn’t have to wait long for the double as in the following Heat as Clona Blaze backed up last week’s victory with another fine winning performance. Owned by Kevin O’Brien, he showed good early pace to just lead the early paced Grangeview Ten into the opening bend. Railing well, Grangeview Ten took up the running but Clona Blaze wasn’t for giving in and after tracking well throughout, he finish strong to get back up and beat Grangeview Ten by a length and a half, in 28.11.

The draw for the final is:

1. Rockybay Foley, 2. Ballyanne Sim, 3. Grangeview Ten, 4. Doona Buck, 5. Clona Blaze, 6. Newinn Lester
