Although no luck in the big final at Limerick, the kennel still racked up an impressive weekend of winners; sending out no fewer than TEN last Saturday evening.
Clares Rocket was a warm favourite in the Final of the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial at Limerick following his scintillating runs through the competition, but a missed break and then trouble at the opening turn put paid to any hopes for him. Instead Droppys Roddick flew the lids and went on to take the honours with Riverside Oscar chasing him home gallantly. Riverside Chip was just outstayed for third spot and finished fourth.
On the same card, Rural Hawaii returned to the sort of form that saw him claim big race success last year as he powered to victory in the Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run Open. A quick double was complete when Skywalker Rory was an impressive winner in the Roadbridge Open 550. Scoring by three lengths, he was never under pressure and won comfortably.
Up at Shelbourne the team were on fire as we sent out an amazing 8 winners!
The night started with a bang as we sent out the first 3 winners on the card. Hovex Blaze, who had encountered trouble in all of his previous starts, found himself with a dream run round the outside and went on to claim his first victory, in a very fast 31.13 for the 575. Litter sisters, Slippery Louise (28.79) and Slippery Thelma (28.55) then obliged in the the opening two heats of the Healthcare & Transport Services Oaks. Ballinakil Clare then recorded a round best of 28.06 as she took Heat 4 before Sidarian Pearl crossed the line in front in Heat 5, recording 28.17. Rockburst Riva gave us another winner in Heat 7, coming home in 28.41. The night was rounded off with a double from Coran Sky in the Open 550, powering home to a four and a half length victory, and Jo Jo Fantasy getting up to score on the line by the shortest of heads in the Gain Feeds Open 525.
A remarkable achievement for the kennels, but one which is testament to the hard work and dedication from all involved at the kennels.
