It’s a very busy Saturday evening for the kennels as we have runners at three locations, both in Ireland and the UK, competing in some top class action.

Over in the UK, at Towcester, we have 5 runners flying the flag. The feature races of the evening are the Star Sports English Derby Semi Finals where Clares Rocket will be looking to progress next week’s final. Unbeaten in the competition so far it’s all about getting in the first three to secure his place in next week’s Final. Also on the card we have Drive On Tipp, Impressive Guy and Sonic lining up in the Star Sports Derby Plate Semi Finals where they will have to be on their game to grab one of the two qualifying spots in each heat. Slippery Louise will be lining up in the Star Sports Derby Stayers Heat.

Curraheen Park sees the opening round of Irish Independent Laurels, a competition we have been fortunate enough to win in recent years with the likes of Sevenheads Bay,Knockglass Billy and Skywalker Manner. We send a strong team down to defend the title with reigning champ Skywalker Manner being joined by Produce Stakes winner, Clonbrien Hero and Waterford Select Stakes victor Riverside Oscar. The team is completed by Fleetwood Lee, Riverside Chop, Clona Kid who may just slip under the radar of some but are all there to run big races.

Finally, we’re delighted to be back at HQ as Shelbourne Park has now re-opened it’s doors and we send a team of 9 up to the Dublin venue. There are some unexposed and inexperienced types making the trip up who will all benefit from their first experiences of the track. Hazelhill Star, Fantasy Grace, Fantasy Joey, Mildean Tony O, Clares Queen, Hovex Mick, Black Truffle, Ardrahan Zindi and Black Farren all line up.
