Friday evening saw the opening round of the Larry O’Rourke National Produce Stakes at Clonmel where, with no fewer than 10 runners, we returned home with 5 fantastic winners!

The unbeaten, Newinn Taylor was the first winner of the evening as he produced another sparkling display, leading home kennel mate Doolin Duke who was very impressive in defeat. Despite not having raced for nearly 5 months he showed great early speed to lead early with Duke in close 2nd, opening up an advantage along the far side he eventually cam home a length to the good in a fast 28.30. Rathcoole Fox produced a big run in Heat 3 to record a fastest of the round, 28.22. He too led up early before showing big pace along the back and kept pulling around the final turns to go on a score by three and a half lengths.

Another fine youngster who is unbeaten in his career to date overcame slight bumping on the run up to hold his position before opening up an unassailable lead down the far side. He stopped the clock in another decent 28.54. It was another ‘Newinn’ victory in Heat 6 as this time Newinn Sheedy showed his class with an all the way success. Flying from traps he was in full control of the contest early on, staying on strongly he clocked 28.58 finishing five and a half length in front of his nearest rival.
