The Night Of Stars is now only a couple of days away and it promises to be a fantastic night for all connected. We’re privileged to have 12 runners on the night in what is shaping up to be one of the best race cards to ever come together. The quality of all the runners is exceptional and this will make for some brilliant races for us to all enjoy.

Out evening starts in Race 2, the Greyhound & Pet World Open 525, where Skywalker Pearl contests a very strong bitches race. She’ll be aiming to follow up last weeks winning performance where she ran out a good winner. Drive On Tipp will line up in the Night of Stars Open Dog Puppy 525, he didn’t show his true running at Waterford last week but we’re hopeful he’ll go a lot better here.

Race 5, The Ted Hegarty Bookmaker Night of Stars Open 850 will see Skywalker Rossa step up to the extreme distance for the first time. Taking on some more established stayers she’s more than capable of upsetting them if she can gain an early advantage. She’s in great form at present. Sidarian Eska takes his place in an extremely hot sprint contest in Race 6, The Chelsea Glass Lenson Sanchez Night of Stars Open 350. He’ll need to be electric from traps to get in the mix in this quality affair.

We’ll have two representatives in the brilliant Brinkleys Estate Night of Stars Open Bitch 525.  Trap 2, Ballinakil Clare clocked a superb 28.17 in a recent trial but missed the break last week and encountered a bumpy ride whilst Sidarian Pearl, in Trap 4, comes in off the back of a win in a hot contest last week. Both are two of the best in training but you cannot discount any bitch in this race, worthy of an Oaks Final.

Derby Finalist Sonic goes in Race 9, it’s probably fitting he’ll be contesting the Rural Hawaii @ Stud Night of Stars Open 575. It’s another brilliant race with last year’s Derby winner and another of this years Derby Finalists involved. He wasn’t Derby favorite by luck and if coming away on terms will have a big say in the outcome of this race.

Last week’s Waterford Select Stakes Winner, Riverside Oscar, and fellow Finalist, Skywalker Manner, line up against each other again in Race 10, the BIF Night of Stars Open 525. The early pace battle will be crucial here again in a tough contest. There’s pace throughout this field and both will need good breaks to get them round the bend in front.

The BoyleSports Night of Stars Open 550, Race 11, will see the return of Clares Rocket where he will do battle with kennel mate Skywalker Rory, not to mention English Derby Finalist, Lenson Rocky. Another race that screams quality all through it. Likely to go to traps a warm favourite on the back of his breathtaking 29.25 trial last week, there’ll be no margin for error for Rocket in this field but he’s back to great form following his injury layoff and has an ideal draw.

The final race of the evening, Droopys Nidge @ Stud Night of Stars Open 600, will see the curtain come down on the glittering career of the brilliant Ballydoyle Honey. It would be a fitting way to bow out with a win on one of the finest cards we’ve seen, but it’s another truly exceptional race where she’ll need to be at her best to take the win. Beaten in the same race last year, we’re hoping she runs a big race to go out in style.

We didn’t have a great Night Of Stars 2015 by our standards, with only one winner, so we’re looking to rectify that and send a very strong team for what promises to be an extraordinary night’s racing! Good luck to all our runners and owners on the night.
