Unbeaten in their previous two races at Clonmel, Newinn Session and litter brother Doolin Duke were the ones to beat heading into Saturday’s top quality decider. It was Newinn Session who prevailed on the evening with a display of great track craft and pure pace to land the honors for owner Simon Taylor.
Serene Graduate was fastest into stride to lead into the opening corner but Newinn Session, overcoming an early bump, showed great pace to move second and on the premise looking to take control. Showing great track craft for an inexperienced racer he slipped through on the inside to quickly take control out the second turn and then proceeded to open a three length advantage down the back straight. Pulling further away round the final two turns he stayed on strongly to eventually cross the line four and a half length to the good in a very good 28.61.
