Been a busy couple of weeks being involved in the Irish Derby heats on every night so far, not to mention the additional racing round the country. Hopefully everyone has seen our page with the latest news and videos of our runners in the competition, if not, please click here to be taken there. However, there’ll be no update this week until midweek due to our web team being on holiday.

Quick update on some of our Derby team. Riverside Pat was found to be lame after his first round exit, whilst Clares Wonder also picked up a niggle. We have 5 of our derby runners entered for the Derby Plate which commences on Thursday evening. The entries are Cabra Buck, Runaway Rover, Ardnacrusha Lady, Barnhill Turbo and Coran Sky. The draw for this is due out any time now. We’re hoping to have a strong team to enter on the Gala Finals evening with a couple of dogs making steady progress from recent injury lay offs.

Away from the Derby  Newinn Expert was a warm favourite in the final of the Head For Fame @ Stud Puppy Oaks 525 Final at Harolds Cross. Unfortunately she was out of luck when it mattered most and found trouble at the first bend, and again around the final turn. She kept trying her hardest and went down just over a length. However, as disappointed as we were to see her miss out there was some consolation in the fact that the winner was from our own stud dog – Leeview Jet! He is getting some fast offspring from limited matings, more details about Jet can be found by viewing his own page – click here.

Sidarian Lisa has made another final, this time the Cambridgeshire Open 750 at Limerick. Finishing 3rd in last weeks semi final she has now drawn Trap 6 in the Final and will need to be on her toes to make a slick exit.
