Rural Hawaii opened his account in fine style last Thursday evening at Clonmel when taking a heat of the The Red Mills/T.S.C. Open Unraced Plate opening round. Despite breaking from traps awkwardly he showed good acceleration to the opening turn where he had to be ride a bit of trouble. Asserting down the back straight in took control of the race at the half way point and never looked troubled when galloping clear to a two and half length victory.

On the same card, Leeview Lady continued her impressive run of form when bursting from traps to take the win in her Suirview Kennels Open Bitch Stake heat. Pacing up well she had a dream run on the rails at the opening turn and made the most of the solo. Stretching away from the chasing field she recorded victory by three and half lengths to progress to Thursday’s Semi Final.

Sunday saw us at Clonmel for the 2nd Round of The Red Mills/T.S.C. Open Unraced Stake. Riverside Gold was looking to follow up last weeks victory. He ran a game race, showing good bend running at the opening turn before powering away up the back straight. He looked like he would hold on but was eventually collared on the line but still progresses to this weekend’s Semi Finals. He’ll be joined by Ballydoyle Honey who showed great determination to get to the front in her heat. Keeping in contention early she had to go the long way round at the final turn and pushed on to take the win by half a length.

Rockburst Vienna finished 4th in her heat of the The Greyhound & Pet World Open 790 Stake to progress to this weekend’s Semi Finals.
