Last weekend saw a good return for the kennels as we sent out 3 winners in the opening heats of the Kerry Agribusiness Irish St Leger at Limerick.
Clonbrien Hero recorded a fastest of the night, 29.49, when dictating from trap rise and going on to score well by three lengths. We didn’t have to wait too long for the next winner as Hovex Mick recorded success in the next heat. Showing his strong running style he tracked the early leader before powering home on the run in, stopping the clock in 29.72. Our final winners was recent Derby Finalist Sonic. Doing everything wrong as the boxes opened he had to come from last to first. Showing brilliant back straight pace he got his head in front round the third and fourth bend before going on to win in 29.83.
The Second Round gets underway this evening where Sonic lines up in Heat 2, Hovex Mick and Garryvoe Bobby in Heat 3, Droopys Cabaye in Heat 4, Clonbrien Hero in Heat 6 and finally Clona Kid and Drive On Tipp in Heat 7.
As well as having runners at Limerick we have an 8 strong team at Shelbourne on a card which includes the The Sporting Press Open 600 Final and the Irish Oaks Semi Finals. Ballydoyle Misty starts us off in the opening race, Riverside Chip lines up in the Open 350, Sidarian Fern then takes her place Open 525 before Ardrahan Zindi runs in the second Irish Oaks Semi Final. We have a double in the Sporting Press Open 600 Final, Ballydoyle Duke and Slippery Louise take their place looking to improve on their 2nd and 3rd finishes last week, respectively. Nitro Notorious has his first taste of competitive action since his nasty tumble in August before we round the evening off with Black Truffle in the final race of the evening.
