We’ve had a quieter few weeks on the racing front than normal, the calm before the storm if you will, with the Irish Derby just around the corner!

Friday evening saw us head to Harolds Cross to contest the Gain Dog Food Corn Cuchulainn. Jo Jo Fantasy got us off to a great start as he took the opening heat. Forging a nice lead from the 3/4 mark he ground the win out by three quarters of a length. Heat 3 saw recent addition, Ascot Becky, run on strongly to grab the victory, getting up under the shadow of the posts. Ardrahan Zindi went well in Heat 4, crossing the line some 5 lengths in front of nearest rival, in the process clocking the quickest of the opening round heats.  Heat 5 was a trap to line success for Mildean Puma. Flying from the traps he never looked troubled and came home some two lengths to the good.

Saturday night we’ll be heading to two opposite corners of Ireland as we send a team of 6 to Shelbourne Park and 3 to Curraheen Park. Rural Hawaii and Skywalker Manner line up in the  Irish Independent Laurels Semi-Finals, thankfully in opposite races, before Riverside Oscar runs in an Open 550.
