The kennel scored with another couple winners over the weekend, which included the fastest heat winner of the Irish Independent Laurels opening round at Curraheen Park.

Gaytime Hawk posted a brilliant 28.16, crossing the line some six and a half lengths to the good in Heat 9 of the Laurels on Saturday evening. Breaking well he was on the tail of the early leader round the opening turn, chasing her down into the 3rd bend he flew past and powered away in impressive fashion. Earlier in the evening, in Heat 5, Coran Sky had to settle for third spot in his heat but safely progresses to the next round.

Over at Shelbourne we saw Hovex Prince take the Barking Buzz(www.igb.ie/app) A1/A2 525 Final. Going in to the race a very warm favorite on the back of a brilliant run last week he was made to work hard for the victory this week. Chasing the early leader down the back straight he wore it down round the final two turns before going on to score by two lengths.

Warrior Gwen ran out a good winner in the Ted Hegarty Bookmaker A1 Tri Distance Round 1 Heat 3. Leading all from traps she turned over a couple of top dogs to claim some big scalps. Rackethall Royal was just outstayed on the run in when finishing second in his heat but still progresses to next week’s Semi Finals, to be held over the 575 distance.

Calzaghe Clampet went down by a neck when finishing runner up in the opening Dandelion Bar & Nightclub Open 550 Semi-Final. He is safely through to next week’s final where he is not without chances.
