It was a pretty good weekend for the kennels with 2 runners safely progressing to their respective finals aswell as other kennels runners all performing with credit.

At Mullingar, Garryvoe Jet qualified for the final of the Gain Dog Food Irish Cesarewitch when running a great race to finish 2nd. Overcoming bunching on the run up he managed to get clear of the pack in pursuit of the leader down the back straight. It looked like he was just about to get through a gap at the 3rd bend when he was forced to check his run and ended up being beaten 3.5 lengths but progresses to next weekend’s final.

Cabra Buck made yet another big race final at Shelbourne when he won his Dandelion Bar & Nightclub Easter Cup 550 Semi-Final in emphatic fashion. Breaking well from trap 4 he soon took control of the race showing his customary early dash to the bend and great back straight pace. He comfortably held the pack to win by 3.5 lengths. On the same card, Innameovhoff bounced back from a troubled run last week when overcoming a bad box draw to win an open 525. Running a brave line at the first bend he managed to squeeze up to the rail and soon asserted along the back straight and powering home by 5.5 lengths in a fast 28.44. Our other runners on the evening didn’t get much luck in running but have all come home safe and sound which is always the main priority.

Over at Limerick we were represented in the Treaty Cup Open 350 by Holborn Junior who was having his first run back from serious injury. Despite early trouble on the run up he showed his brilliant early speed and bravery into the bend to score by 4.5 lengths and record the second fastest time of the heats. Moving on to the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial Stake second round we had Sidarian Blitz going in the first heat. A sluggish start set him on the back foot but coming out the second bend the big Limerick circuit opened up for him and he showed brilliant back straight pace to seize the lead at the 3rd bend. He stayed on well and came home 2 lengths to the good in a good 28.68. Kennel mates Vans Viking and Runaway Rover had to go to battle with each other in the third heat. Going into the bend together Vans and Rover had a coming together when Rover run up the back of Vans but neither were the worse for wear and they recorded a 1-2 to safely progress to next weeks quarter finals.
