Clona Blaze produced a superb foot perfect display on the big occasion to land the Ladbrokes Easter Cup at Shelbourne, a prize we last won in 2015 with the brilliant Sidarian Blaze.

It was a fine 1-2 for the team as Clona Blaze was pushed hard by Clonbrien Prince who tried his upmost to reel in the long time leader but ultimately it was Blaze’s display of scintillating breaking, and early speed, which made the difference on the evening. Leading clear in to the opening turn, Blaze lead by some four lengths along the far side, showing big back straight pace Prince was making up the ground and continued to eat in to the lead on the run in. Similar to last week, Blaze rallied on the run in to land the classic by a neck, in a very fast 29.37.
