We missed out on the big one on Saturday but the team still recorded a fantastic four timer on the Derby under-card which is a great achievement and one we are delighted with.

The Boylesports Irish Derby culminated on Saturday evening after 6 weeks of the best racing action of the year. We’ve been delighted with our runner’s performances throughout the competition and to get three into the Final again was testament to the hard work that goes in at the kennels. Ballyanne Sim, the winner, was foot perfect from boxes and was a worthy victor on the evening and all of us at the kennels send our congratulations to all those connected with him.

Clonbrien Prince, for Kay Murphy, followed up his fine win last week with a perfect performance in the Boylesports Deposit & Withdraw Cash In Store Open 550. Leading on the run up early he continued to extend his lead along the far side with the chasing pack not able to make an impression. Turning for home he was in total control as Lenson Blinder ran on to grab second and make it a nice 1-2 for the team. Prince stopped the clock in a phenomenal 29.20!

We didn’t have to wait long for the next winner as Blue East obliged in the next race, the Download The Fastest Ever Boylesports App Open 525. It was a similar performance to Clonbrien Prince as Blue East broke well and led into the opening turns. Cruising along the far side he ran out a comfortable four length winner in a very fast 28.14. This was the first of a double on the evening for owner Larry O’Rourke.

The Best Odds Guaranteed On The Boylesports App Open 575 went the way of the Larry O’Rourke owned Beaming Paradise. Holding his perfect draw on the rails into the opening bend he opened up along the far side to lead at the third bend. Pulling away he crossed the line three lengths to the good in 30.97 to justify some heavy favouritism in the ring and score the team a superb hat-trick. Due to an injury in this race we are not showing this replay.

We weren’t finished there and the four timer was bought up by Macaroon Cruz in the Boylesports App On Google Play & App Store Open 600. It turned out to be another dominant performance as he held his rails position into the turns before running a fine second bend to take control of the contest. Pulling away along the back straight he kept pulling all the way to the line, winning by five lengths in 32.25.

It rounded off a great evening for the team. Once again, we’d like to thank all of our family, friends, owners and followers that have wished us well in recent weeks on our Derby campaign.
