Sunday evening saw the Quarter Final stage of the B.I.F Produce Stakes held at Clonmel where we had 4 runners remaining.

The opening heat saw Amazing Dude go to traps a very warm favorite following his two recent successes in previous rounds. Flying from traps he was in full command of the race as he rounded the opening turns. Flying along the back he drew further away before coming home some eight lengths to the good in a blistering 28.23 – equaling the Clonmel Track Record!

Rural Hawaii and Charming King lined up alongside each other in the second Quarter Final. It was Rural Hawaii who took the honours but had to show his brilliant back straight pace to take full control of the contest. Moving round the outside at the opening turns he powered down the back to open up a three length advantage. Despite swinging wide off the last he held on comfortably to stop the clock in 28.37. Charming King was slow into stride and encountered trouble at every turn, he finished in fifth spot and is eliminated.

Our last Quarter Final runner was Calzaghe Clampett. He was slowly into stride from lid rise. Moving well down the back straight he tried to squeeze up the inside at the third turn but had no where to go. He just got outstayed on the run in to be pipped for the 3rd and final qualifying spot and is eliminated.
